With the arrival of the autumn we want to connect with nature, disconnect from the crazy rhythm at the city. We always try to find original places to escape from routine for one day and to enjoy the wonderful surroundings that Madrid hosts.

And not only are they plans for autumn, but also along the year they are places full of magic and it is a pleasure to go all the year around.

Stop thinking on it: here we find the ultimate guide with the best places to enjoy the flora and fauna in its purest state:

Hayedo de Montejo:

One of the most magical corners of the Sierra de Madrid is undoubtedly the most Southern beech forest in Europe.

It’s almost mandatory to book in advance through the official website but, If you find everything sold out, no worries, there will be some tickets left at the office!

Rascafría:

If you want to spend a day with different proposals, this is your place. You can always start by visiting the monastery of El Paular, a hidden jewel in the mountains and being one of the best representations of Carthusian art.

A short distance and crossing el puente del Perdón, we will arrive at a magical place: the forest of Finland, where peace is a reality. You can sit down to feel the silence and the nature.

You can always finish your day in the village, always full of life thanks to its restaurants where the local product and seasonal cuisine is a must!

Buitrago de Lozoya:

less than an hour from Madrid we find this small corner. Although it is famous for housing natural pools, the town is well worth a visit. Its walls take us back to another century and its indoor side invites to the walk. In addition, this place has an unexpected surprise as it is a large collection of paintings by Picasso, thanks to his barber Eugenio Arias, who kept all the gifts the painter gave to him. We totally recommend the museum!

Manzanares el Real:

this lovely village of the Sierra Norte, located at the beginning of the Pedriza, houses one of the best monuments in the region: the castle of the Mendoza, one of the best preserved in the Iberian Peninsula. Besides, the town is the perfect meeting point for hiking routes.

La Cabrera:

Although is not so popular between foreigner visitors, it is one of the places of pilgrimage to see one of the most spectacular landscapes in Madrid. Besides, one of the oldest convents in Madrid, dated in the eleventh century is located here, are you gonna miss out?

What is your perfect getaway? Remember that Marly Olé can prepare any kind of experience wherever you want, we will be happy to help you!
